Alex: Since my uni has made a massive move from North Sydney to the heart of Parramatta it has been my goal to find some really great places for a decent breakfast/lunch/brunch (whatever you want to call it) stop. A job for ‘Urban List’ also gave me the opportunity to go out and take some photos at Parramatta’s most desirable breakfast spots. While Big Tree House Cafe is not in Parramatta it’s not that far off, so making the trip out here was definitely a great decision. The fit out of the cafe is appealing with light muted colours, as well as the added allure of natural light (the cause of every photographer’s wet dream). Using Campos coffee, the quality is top-notch and it’s no wonder as to why a lot of the locals make this their regular haunt. As the terms slowly go by, the assignments and briefs get harder and harder, and while I love a good challenge, this assignment was right up my alley and got me very excited!! For those that don’t know, I’m currently in my second year, studying a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communications majoring in photography at Raffles College of Design and Commerce. The assessment brief for the first assignment of this term was to create 1 finished image as either; – a front cover of an exotic/creative food magazine, titled “Nosh“. – an enticing and descriptive imagery of fresh produce and ingredients that promote local growers and quality Australian produce as a double page editorial with article.
